Big Data Team Leader

Are you passionate about building high-performance, real-time data platforms at scale? We're looking for a Big Data Team Leader to drive the design, development, and operation of mission-critical data pipelines that power real-time insights, automation, and AI-driven decision-making. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll mentor engineers, shape technical strategy, and own highly scalable distributed systems from architecture through production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Big Data Engineers.

• Architect, build, and optimize large-scale data pipelines and streaming platforms.

• Own services end-to-end: design, development, deployment, monitoring, and operations.

• Drive engineering excellence, performance optimization, observability, and reliability.

• Partner closely with AI, ML, and backend teams to enable real-time automation and intelligent decision-making.

• Help define technical direction, best practices, and scalable data architecture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in big data engineering

• Backend engineering experience - advantage

• Proven experience leading engineering teams or technical projects

• Strong Java development experience (Spring, Vert.x, or similar frameworks)

• Expertise with Kafka and stream-processing technologies such as Flink, Spark, Beam, or Kafka Streams

• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native architectures

• Deep knowledge of production environments, monitoring, observability, and performance tuning

• Experience with databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, and ClickHouse

• Ability to take ownership of systems throughout their entire lifecycle

• Passion for solving complex data challenges at scale
